How Cway subscriptions work: modules and seats
Summary: A Cway subscription consists of modules and seats. Modules decide which parts of Cway your organisation can use. Seats decide which people can run projects and make decisions on artworks.
Modules
A module unlocks one part of Cway for everyone in your organisation. The modules are:
- Project (Artwork Production)
- Brand Studio 360 (Digital Asset Management)
- Sharing
- Insights
- PIM (Product Information Management)
Each module is available at three levels: Starter, Pro and Enterprise. Levels can be combined across modules.
Seats
A seat is a personal licence assigned to one named member of your organisation. There are two seat types:
| Seat type | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Project seat | Creating and running projects and artworks, and making decisions such as approving and rejecting artworks |
| Lightbox seat | Using the Lightbox desktop app for your organisation |
The two seat types are independent. A Project seat does not include Lightbox access, and a Lightbox seat does not include project authority.
A seat is either held or not held. There are no partial seats.
The main rule
Taking charge needs a seat. Taking part is free.
Viewing, uploading, commenting, downloading and delivering never require a seat. Suppliers, printers, agencies, reviewers and external collaborators do not need a Project seat.
How modules and seats relate
Modules and seats do not replace each other:
- A seat does not give access to a module your organisation does not have.
- A module does not give project authority without a Project seat.
